Dave & Bev Robinson
 
Dave joined Rotary in 1981 as a Charter Member and Treasurer of the Langley Central Club. He served as Rotaract Chair for Districts 5040 and 5050 and then as President of the Abbotsford Rotary Club in 1996/7 followed by a year as Assistant Governor. Dave served as Governor for District 5050 in 1999-2000, along with his wife, Bev.
 
Dave's Rotary International Appointments have included:
 
National Advisor of the Permanent Fund of TRF for Canada and the United States, Coordinator for the Public Relations and Rotary Image Task Force for Zone 22; Zone Coordinator for the Community Service Programs Task Force, Presidential Celebration Committee (Vocational Service), RI Membership Zone Coordinator (RIMZC) for Zone 22, Coordinator for the Public Relations Resource Group for Zone 22, Presidential Celebration Committee (Membership), Rotary Regional Membership Coordinator (RRIMC) for Zone 22. As well he has represented the RI President at District Conferences in Italy (2001-2), Texas (2007-8) Kansas (2013- 14) and Illinois 2016-17. Deputy Regional Coordinator (Zone 24) for the 2016 Seoul International Convention.
 
Dave's Zone 22 (now Zone 24) Appointments have included:
 
Presentations and discussion group leader at six Zone Institutes as well as being a PETS, GNATS, and GETS trainer (Presidents-Elect Training Seminar, Governors-Nominee Advanced Training Seminar and Governors-Elect Training Seminar). He served as Vice-President and Director of C.R.C.I.D (Canadian Rotary Collaboration for International Development) from 2002 to 2006 and later as President from 2007 to 2009.
 
In 2009 Dave was appointed Chair of the Canadian Rotary Centennial Project Committee namely to build a school in Afghanistan for 4,000 students (app. half of which are girls). The school was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. It has been regarded as one of the finest schools in Afghanistan and perhaps the most successful World Community Service Project between the Government of Canada and Rotary International.   
 
He attended the Council on Legislation in 2007 and again in 2010.
 
Dave is the recipient of the District 5050 Rotary Foundation Award, the Four Avenues of Service Award, and the Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service Award.
 
Dave is very active in his community and church.
 
Dave's wife, Bev, is a former President of the Rotary Club of Cloverdale. In 2013 in recognition of her service to the community she was awarded Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. Bev passed away November 6th, 2017.
 
Dave and Bev are TRF Major Donors Level 3, members of the Paul Harris Society, Benefactors to the Permanent Fund of TRF, and Charter Members of the Foundation’s Bequest Society.
 
They have three married children and seven grandchildren.
